It is a 27' dia. terra cotta color Yurt with a white roof on a bluff just above the Harley's pond. The Yurt was built in 2012; it was made by the Colorado Yurt company. There is a water well dug in 2018, solar system set up, generator back up (back charges the batteries, runs the well, electricity, etc.), heated by the wood burning stove, running cold water and a hot water on demand, propane cook stove, full size refrigerator, microwave, small washing machine, TV w/DVD player. There is a brand new wind turbine to be installed to efficiently generate extra electricity. Seller has made some changes to the yurt such as installing insulation to the inside of the walls and installing some paneling over the wind stout supports just making it more comfortable while being so far from anyone or anything with creature comforts. Outdoor activities: hiking, hunting, rafting, kayaking, snowshoeing, and heli-skiing/back-country skiing. Fishing is great! Copper river Reds, Kings and Silvers in the river as well as Dolly Varden, rainbow trout, and grayling in the Harley's Pond. Peaceful views of the Harley's pond (lake size), the Chugach Mts. and the Wrangell and St. Elias Mts., small and large glaciers. No view of neighbors; being that the yurt is out in the bush of Alaska and the closest road and village is 35 miles away you will be able to enjoy your solitude and living with nature. From the front porch you can admire nesting trumpeter swans, watch bald eagles, ducks, black and brown bears, wolverine, porcupines, mink, wolves, and of course... beavers. You can also meet harbor seals chasing fish up the river. Explore the Copper River rail line with many bridges, the train station, and other cool things dating back to the 19th century when prospectors first discovered rich gold, silver, copper and lead deposits.
